What I learned from our very first issue

Journalism and making news is a one of a kind niche. It takes a lot of hours and dedication to provide the community with an interesting and informative story that they actually WANT to hear about. You cannot decorate a story with creative adjectives and “ornaments” and expect positive feedback some of us are used to in the “research paper” realm. Interviews are your best friend, in my opinion, when writing a good story. It is best to set up a solid interview before you even start writing to ensure you will have a sturdy backbone to work with. I feel as though I have a pretty good understanding as to what needs to be addressed in writing strong articles in the near future. Journalism is fun!- Alex Alfonso 🙂
